December 2011 Board Meeting

The next NVOSAS Board meeting is on Sunday, December 11th at 7:00 pm in the Mahon Room of the Harry Jerome Rec Centre. The Grant Writing Committee will meet at 6:00 pm before the regular meeting.

A few notes about the Board meeting:

• All Board members are invited to bring a small refreshment to share.
• If you signed up for Secret Santa, don’t forget to bring your $10 gift.
• The Purdy’s orders are in and will be handed out at the meeting.
• This meeting will also be your last chance to buy a ticket to the January 14th Giants hockey game. Tickets are $20.
• Finally, if you’re interested in attending the Murder Mystery night, you can buy tickets for $15 at the meeting too.

November 2011 Board Meeting

Reminder that our next meeting is on Sunday, November 13th at 7:00 pm in the Mahon Room of the Harry Jerome Rec Centre. Grant Writing, Fundraising Events and Membership Committees have a joint meeting at 6:30 pm before the Board meeting. Please let Katharine Olson know if you will not be making it.

Treats will be provided by Lesley and Alexandra.

Purdy’s orders are due at this meeting. Please bring all forms and money, and really try hard to sell at least $50 (before tax) so that we meet the minimum order!

Please bring $20 if you plan to attend the Giants game on January 14th, tickets will be purchased and handed out at the December meeting!

All other committees should hold their first meeting before this Board meeting and have a rough outline of any events or plans for the year.

Vancouver Giants Hockey Game

NVOSAS members are invited to come watch the Vancouver Giants take on the Kelowna Rockets!

When: January 14th at 7 pm

Where: Pacific Coliseum

Price: Ticket are $20 and in the gold section. Get money to Katharine Olson no later than the November 13th meeting. Tickets will be handed out at the December meeting.

Important Note: This event is for Alumni only because alcohol will be available for purchase. Anyone wishing to purchase alcoholic beverages at the game must be 19+ years and bring valid ID.

October 2011 Board Meeting

The next meeting of the NVOSAS will be Sunday, October 16th at 7 pm in the Mahon Room at the Harry Jerome Rec Centre. At this meeting all the committees for the upcoming year will be formed. If you have anything to add to the agenda or cannot make the meeting, please contact the Secretary, Katharine Olson.

AGM & September Meeting

It’s time to reconnect with your Outdoor School friends! NVOSAS board meetings are recommencing and the first meeting will be Sunday, September 18th at 7 pm in the Mahon Room of the Harry Jerome Rec Centre.

Our annual general meeting will be held the following Sunday, same place and time. If you are interested in becoming a member at large, you must attend the AGM.

A Big Thank You

The Open House was a great success in so many ways! The sun was shining and we had a record number of visitors to the North Vancouver Outdoor School. The Alumni Society’s silent auction raised over $3400 for bursaries for students and scholarships for counselors. Once again, we’d like to extend a big thank you to all the donors that helped us make this event such a success!
